Technologies from Xerom
The technologies used in Xerom which is one of the most respected metal stamping companies in the world surpasses the expectations of even the most discerning of clients. Being in Japan, it’s but normal that a company like Xerom would keep improving its methods. For instance, it is one of the few metal press companies that can manufacture parts that are as small as 1mm. That’s a tall order for any metal stamp, metal die company but it’s become part of Xerom’s job order list because the demand for smaller equipment and parts is constantly increasing.

Remember the original mobile phone? These were bulky, heavy pieces of what would now appear to be blocks of metal. With companies like Xerom now able to produce smaller parts, mobile phone companies can reduce the size and weight of our mobile phones so that they can fit into out pant pockets and not cause a major fashion distress.
Aside from this kind of job, the company also is able to handle precision metal die cutting and bending of components to ± 2 µm while the synthetic precision is ± 5 µm. They can even create foil of 1 mm thick or as thick as 25 µm.
To be able to work with metal and know how to stamp, coin, or bend it one needs to be familiar with its characteristics. Since there are many kinds of metal, it’s not an easy task. From raw metal sheets made of aluminum, nickel or nickel alloys, precious metals, copper or copper alloys, clad, or stainless steel to name just a few, Xerom has to be an expert on what metal works on a specific design or not. Just as the company can produce a single die, it can also manage 30 million dies in one month.
